4 Seasons Vista

Mangawhai heads, northland

Frank Stanton

Mono 200

This distinct home was designed to capture the ever changing moods of Northland’s weather from its unique ridgeline viewpoint. The stunning location is also very exposed, making a low profile shape with clean lines the perfect solution. Nu-Wall’s Mono 190 profile (now Mono 200) helped Architectural Designer Frank Stanton achieve his vision without compromising durability.

Maximised views, minimalist form

This long and narrow bespoke home was crafted specifically to allow every room to enjoy the majestic views on offer. The northern face of the home features floor to ceiling windows and great indoor outdoor flow, while the southern face is a balance of clean horizontal and vertical lines and standout red accents.

Being on such a unique site offered challenges, especially with Northland’s unpredictable seasonal climate. Architectural Designer Frank Stanton (Dream Planning Ltd) tackled this by keeping a minimalistic shape with simple but strong lines, which also ensured the structure would not overwhelm the surrounding environment. A dark colour tone was chosen for the Mono cladding to help ground the home visually and allow the feature red accents to shine.

Because of both the environmental and aesthetic requirements, Nu-Wall is the perfect cladding for this home. The depth of colour and low maintenance offered by powder coating, as well as the clean vertical lines, meant that Mono 190 stood out above the rest. To further enhance the vertical lines, all external joinery was designed to fit evenly between the weatherboards.

4 Seasons Vista is the full package, with amazing views, seamless indoor outdoor flow and a clean visual aesthetic. Additionally, expert craftsmanship provided by Smith Construction Ltd who carefully formed the overall building and installed the top quality Nu-Wall cladding product, means this dream home in such an amazing location will stay that way for years to come.

Frank Stanton, Architectural Designer:

I specified Nu-Wall's Mono for its high-quality visual characteristics and clean lines, but also for its ability to provide superior weathertightness, durability and ease of maintenance over the long-term. Especially on such an exposed site, this was extremely important to both the building owner and to me.
