Onyx

Three Kings, Auckland

SS200, E200

Today’s homes need to be designed around modern, busy lifestyles. Versatility of space, sustainability and variety of home styles were fundamental design elements in the construction of the architecturally designed Onyx apartments at Three Kings.

Contemporary urban living

Situated only footsteps away from Mt Eden Road with views to the iconic Te Tatua-a-Riukiuta (Big King Reserve) landmark, makes for living in one of Auckland’s most sought after areas highly desirable and accessible.

Being the first apartments in Three Kings, the architectural fabric of the building was essential to attracting customers. DKO Architects chose to specify a small selection of high-quality cladding systems, one of which was Nu-Wall. This beautiful exterior set the expectation of what was to follow upon entering the site – a block of 21 boutique apartments.

Not only did Nu-Wall cladding provide a durable and weatherproof cladding, but its low maintenance enhances the easy living lifestyle that makes apartments particularly desirable. SS200’s contemporary standing seam enhances the overall look with its strong, architectural lines, while the simpler E200 quietly complements it. This locally made product is New Zealand’s leading recycled aluminium cladding, a key factor in a sustainable living environment.

Open plan living and 2.7m high ceilings created a spacious, light-filled interior which opens to a generous balcony. These 6 Homestar rated, contemporary apartments are beautifully presented with a modern colour palette, wood flooring, tiled bathrooms and copper light features.

DKO Architects:

The Three Kings master plan took a sustainable approach to town centre revitalisation, breathing new life to a disused a quarry site, while repairing the area’s natural and physical infrastructure. This urban village is an exemplar of sustainable urban and restorative design, celebrating the local history, cultural heritage and natural environment.
